Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.

Missions Outreach

  • Danforth Chapel is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. The two foreign missionaries from Danforth Community Chapel are           Elwood & Brenda NelsonElwood Family in Kenya, Africa, and                                                                                           Chuck & Maggie GuillSANYO DIGITAL CAMERA          in Cebu City, Philippines.
  • We also support four local ministries:                                                         1) Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge in Duluth.                      2)TreeHouse North Andrew Kling                       in Sandstone.                                                                                                           3) Harvest Christian School SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA        in Sandstone.                                                                                                       4) Grindstone Lake Bible CampSANYO DIGITAL CAMERA located on Grindstone Lake in Sandstone.
  • We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own communities.

Music & Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music  ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choral groups. Still others get involved in drama like our Sunday School Christmas Program or Monologues. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Ushers & Greeters

The usher & greeter team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Hospitality Committees

There are many times when the church has large functions to attend to like funerals, community outreaches or all church potlucks.  This is when the Hostess committee for that month comes together to run the  kitchen in a smooth and effective manner.  We have not only the ladies of the church serving in this needed ministry but also many men and teens.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. We have many who maintain and work our sound systems to give all of us a pleasant hearing experience. CDs of our services are available upon request.

Marriage Counseling

Marriages can be difficult to maintain. Misunderstanding, confusion, resentment, and anger can flare up in any marriage. Several couples at our church serve other families as marriage counselors. Their role in listening, understanding, helping, and encouraging struggling couples has, by God’s grace, saved marriages, and repaired relationships. Couples have found fresh hope and new joy in a warm and fulfilling relationship with their spouse.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during Sunday School opener and the morning service, prayer requests are shared. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Warriors team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Prayer requests that come up at other times are distributed via our “Prayer Tree”.  If you have such a need, contact Pastor Peter.
